This single plot of Sauvignon Blanc is from Dick Boushey’s County line road Vineyard, which Chris and Dick collaborated on in 2001. Revisiting old world techniques and combining them with modern winemaking has encouraged us to ferment and age our Sauvignon Blanc “Sur Lie” in cement egg-shaped tanks for 18 months. This method has resulted in a very complex and delicious wine, unlike any other.
WINEMAKER NOTES
There are aromas of pear, lime chutney, honey sage and passion fruit. This riper Sauvignon Blanc exhibits great purity and complexity with an elegant yet plush mouthfeel. The flavors show white peaches, honeyed stone minerality, and Bosch pears, along with mouthwatering, juicy lime acidity. The finish is compact, long and very promising.
HISTORY OF ACCLAIM

"The 2016 Upchurch Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is truly one of the best of its kind in Washington. On the nose, the wine brings out an exotic edge with poached pear, apricot and lighter grassy tones. The palate has an oily texture and a wonderfully rich mouthfeel. Kumquat, cut grass, kiwi and bright Gravenstein apple flavors come to mind. Layered and downright delicious, be sure to enjoy this at a slightly warmer temperature where the wine shows its gorgeous range in its entirety. Drink 2019-2028"
