This 2016 exhibits a wonderful combination of plums, violets, cassis, and “Pauillac graphite” aromas. This wine is concentrated and powerful with delicious flavors of currents, cherries, and assorted spices. The dynamic structure of this Red Mountain Estate Cabernet showcases ripe tannins, mouthwatering acidity and light touches of toasty oaks notes. One of my best and most dynamic UV Cabs yet, this wine could live forever.

" The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is even better and is a smoking effort. Crème de cassis, graphite, liquid violets, and exotic spice notes all flow to a full-bodied, concentrated, fresh, focused style. With building tannin yet beautiful length, it's going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for two decades." Jeb Dunnuck

“ A step up in sweetness and pliancy--not to mention depth of flavor--from the Counterpart blend, but still with terrific floral lift to its red fruit flavors. (Upchurch uses an old Oakville clone that retains acidity well.) This plush wine delivers a near-perfect combination of ripeness and structure (like the best Red Mountain wines) and spreads out horizontally to saturate the palate on the long, building aftertaste. Upchurch's vines are only ten years old but the high quality of the site is already obvious. “
