This single plot of Sauvignon Blanc is from Dick Boushey’s County line road Vineyard, which Chris and Dick collaborated on in 2001. Revisiting old world techniques and combining them with modern winemaking has encouraged us to ferment and age our Sauvignon Blanc “Sur Lie” in cement egg-shaped tanks for 18 months. This method has resulted in a very complex and delicious wine, unlike any other.
Winemaker Notes
The 2017 Upchurch Vineyard Southwest Facing showcases a pretty, pale gold hue. This Sauvignon Blanc is quite complex with bouquets of pears, nuts, thyme, sage and citrus notes along with dried apricots and wet stone minerality. It is very bright and has flavors of pear, lime, white peaches, and exotic fruits like kiwi and starfruit. With exquisite balance, it cruises into a lengthy mouth-watering finish.
